In this article, Mike Elgan explains why Asustech is "the most hated company in the PC industry": Microsoft, Dell, Apple and Palm hate Asus because of the EEE of course. In fact we learn that:
- Microsoft hates Asus because the EEE doesn’t embed any Microsoft software: OpenOffice instead of Microsoft Office and Firefox instead of Internet Explorer.
- Apple and Dell hates Asus because they were planing to release a flash based mini-laptop. And Asus did it before them.
- Palm also planed to ship a mini-laptop called Foleo powered by Palm proprietary OS. But they’re late with regards to EEE.
The only PC company that loves Asus is Intel (Of course EEE embed Intel processors). This post provides also a list of EEE review. All of them are positive.
