I found via Juice Analytics, a very good education web site called Habits of Mind. The web site provides resources for Educators and teachers. The “Habits of Mind” concept has been developed by Arthur L. Costa and Bena Kallick:“A Habit of Mind is knowing how to behave intelligently when you DON’T know the answer.” So it’s the right way to behave in order to solve problems. The 16 Habits of Mind identified by Costa and Kallick are:
- Persisting
- Managing impulsivity
- Listening with understanding and empathy
- Thinking flexibly
- Thinking about thinking (metacognition)
- Striving for accuracy
- Questioning and posing problems
- Applying past knowledge to new situations
- Thinking and communicating with clarity and precision
- Gathering data through all senses
- Creating, imagining, innovating
- Responding with wonderment and awe
- Taking responsible risks
- Finding humor
- Thinking interdependently
- Learning Continuously
They are described in this pdf document.
